The second and third largest auto manufacturers in Japan are reportedly joining forces as intense competition in the electric vehicle market coupled with the expenses in bringing a new car to market makes collaborators out of rivals.  

According to TV Tokyo it appears that Nissan is considering a business partnership with Honda, which could include collaboration on electric vehicles (EVs). This potential alliance might focus on developing more affordable EV technology to compete with Chinese automakers like BYD.

The partnership could involve joint battery and vehicle development, as well as a shared EV platform, aiming to reduce EV prices. These discussions come as Japanese automakers are looking to enhance their competitiveness in the EV market.
