Today (16 Feb 2024) Mitsubishi officially launch a vehicle called the “L100 EV” in Indonesia. This electric vehicle (EV) is categorized as a light commercial vehicle and is positioned as Japan’s first electric commercial vehicle .

Here are some specifications and features of the Mitsubishi L100 EV:

Dimensions: The L100 EV has a length of 3,395 millimeters, width of 1,475 millimeters, height of 1,915 millimeters, and a wheelbase of 2,390 millimeters.

Cargo Space: The L100 EV is available only in a van configuration with two seats. The cargo area dimensions are approximately 1,830 millimeters in length, 1,370 millimeters in width, and 1,230 millimeters in height. The maximum payload capacity is 425 kilograms (including the driver only).

Powertrain: The L100 EV is equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor rated at 42 horsepower (31 kilowatts) with a torque of 195 Newton-meters. It can reach a top speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The electric motor is powered by a 20.1-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery, providing an estimated range of up to 180 kilometers based on WLTC standards.

Charging: Full charging using AC charging (Type 1) takes approximately 7.5 hours, while DC fast charging (CHAdeMO) can charge the battery from 0% to 80% in about 42 minutes.

Standard Features: The L100 EV comes with basic features including halogen headlights, 12-inch steel wheels, manual air conditioning, two airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist, stability control, traction control, and seatbelt reminder system.
Color: The L100 EV is available in a solid white paint color.

Warranty: Each L100 EV comes with a five-year/100,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, an eight-year/160,000-kilometer battery warranty, and a SMART package that includes four years/50,000 kilometers of free maintenance (including parts).

This electric commercial vehicle has already been launched in Indonesia with a price of 320 million Indonesian rupiahs (approximately 98,000 Malaysian ringgits). It is being used by the Indonesian postal service as a logistics vehicle.

While the L100 EV may not be as attention-grabbing as the Cybertruck, it holds significant financial importance for Mitsubishi. The company’s CEO aims for high growth, targeting a 50% annual increase in sales, making the introduction of an affordable electric commercial vehicle crucial for expanding into new markets .
